Stayover-of-the-Day

Today's New Year's Eve. In the evening, I went over to bex's place and stayed over for the night. We had a mini countdown. Interesting. We also had our first board meeting for 'three girls on the road'!

Excercise-of-the-Day

Last night, we (bex and I) had a long discussion on the phone till 5+am. The future's looking good! Let's have a peek at what's coming... Click on the link '3GirlsOnTheRoad' at the right-hand column..
I was amazed I could drag myself out of bed for air pistol training. After that, I met some CSS (Catholic Students' Society) folks for a game of badminton. It's been a while since I last saw them.
Now, I'm sipping on wine and listening to music. This is the life. I'll be having dinner with my family tonight!
Anyway, I just received mail from overseas. This is the 2nd time I've had overseas mail (don't count overseas university responses to my application). The first time it was from Bejing. Now, it's from Japan! Just yesterday morning, I had a call from New Zealand (Cadbury)!

Supper-of-the-Day

Jolly good supper at Casuarina!

In the evening, I brought bex over for air pistol training. She got to shoot as well! Not bad for a beginner!

After that, we picked Venessa up and started cheering in the car. We got so high that we decided to go for supper at Casuarina! Yay!!! Looking forward to Hong Kong!!!

Gathering-of-the-Day

This evening, we had our AJC class gathering! Well, 9 of us anyway.
Here's the attendance:
  1. ME
  2. Daniel
  3. Gerald
  4. Nicholas
  5. Sandra
  6. Shuming
  7. Meijing
  8. Poh Leng
  9. Eileen
We had dinner at Newton Circus followed by Ben & Jerry's at Raffles City and finally had coffee at the Pacific Coffee Company. It's nice to catch up with people you haven't seen for some time. The guys are entering university soon. Rather excited for them.

Hmm.. Skating lesson was cancelled this evening due to the unsuitable weather. Others would describe it as bad weather but why should wet weather be bad weather? I like rainy days especially if I'm going to run, walk home or run around Orchard Rd (pQ: Remember the last time we did that? Damn shiok!)

Movie-of-the-Day

Titus eating his bone in the rain.

Today, becca and I went cycling around Seletar Airbase. Fun. After that, we went to J8 to watch The Holiday. It's a nice movie! In the evening, I went to her place to watch that Superstar show. Don't know the exact name, hehe. Watched Diya perform. Not bad.

Anyway, we ate so much today. Lunch at my place (more Christmas food), dinner at Subway and supper at Ang Mo Kio St 11. Tsk.

By the way, if I took a long time to reply your sms, I was too busy hanging out with becca. Have a nice day.

Dinner-of-the-Day

In the afternoon, pQ and I went to play badminton! After that, we went home to start preparing food for my annual dinner on the 26th of December at my place. The objective is to clear as much Christmas food and goodies as possible. We were so efficient that we finished preparing everything before 6pm (the time that dinner was to commence).

Here's the list of guests:
  • Sandra
  • Shuming
  • Meijing
  • Clara
  • The Grinch
Shuming brought Malibu (some coconut alcoholic drink). I found it quite nice after a while. Anyway, there was still leftover food after we filled ourselves to the brim!

The Gift - an entry dedicated to Rebecca Toh

I was so excited that I had to take a peek at it at the traffic light on the way home. In the car, I was thinking of where and how I would hang it up already (since it's so nice)! When I got home, I headed for the tool box to look for 2 short screws and a screw driver. I got my ball of string as well. I prepared it to be hanged (pardon my language). After that, I drove a nail into my bedroom wall (it wasn't easy because my wall is very very hard). I hung it in the most prominent place - at the doorway of my bedroom so I will see it at least twice a day (in the morning when I exit the room and at night when I enter the room). Anyway, I like the inscription at the back as well. It feels so abstract. Not totally abstract but just the right measure. (",) Maybe it'll be priceless in time to come. Well, to me, it's already priceless (oops, too mushy, pardon me).

Thanks for the gift and for time spent making it.
Ultimately touched.

Birthday-of-the-Day

First of all, Merry Christmas! My family spent Christmas in the usual way by visiting Aunt Daisy and Uncle Trevor. We got stuffed with food as usual (so much that I consciously skipped dinner).

After that, I drove down to Chinatown Point where Adventure 21 was located. I bought some stuff I need for my upcoming trip. The staff at the store were extremely friendly. If I ever need anything again, I'll go back to that store to get it! I then made my way to the warehouse sale for U2 and G2000 at Tannery Rd. I wanted to go for the MANGO warehouse sale but I was too lazy to travel there (Raffles Place).

I met up with Jimmy for a mini gift exchange. He got me a Stitch stuffed toy and Corrine May's CD!!! I was amazed when I saw the CD. The first thing I asked him was how he knew I wanted that CD. I don't recall telling much people that I wanted to buy it. Just coincidence? According to Jimmy, it might have been divine intervention. Haha.

Anyway, after that, I went to Jubilee and watched Curse of the Golden Flower (private date with myself). I switched my hand-phone to silent without vibration so I guess I went MIA for a while (sorry becca)!

Lastly, I met becca (and her family) to pass her stuff.

Father: Son, did you get all you wanted for Christmas?
Son: No, I didn't. But then again, it isn't my birthday is it?

Cooking-of-the-Day

At noon, I arrived at Jan & Pat's place for lunch and to cook for our Christmas dinner. I had ABC Stout at lunch. After that, we cooked Prawns of Passion and Stuffed Chicken with Feta Cheese and Bacon. Simply excellent. Dinner was great!

After that, we opened our gifts and Dad got me some fancy expensive present. I got a great present from Justin (my eldest brother) too - Oceanus from The Body Shop. I think I'm a little high. Drank a whole lot of red wine, white wine and some ABC stout.

Merry Christmas..

I love you guys. Baby, all I want for Christmas is YOU. =) Back to watching Love Actually. BYE.

Oh wait! I almost forgot. Today, I learnt how to take a blood pressure reading. Dr Jansen Koh taught me to do so at his home! Hmm.. My blood pressure is on the low side, slightly below the lower limit for being healthy. This probably explains the fainting. Ok, more salt for me!

Preparation-of-the-Day

In the morning, Ivan and I went to teach skating. After that, I met Patricia to buy groceries for the grand celebration tomorrow! I joined Jan & Pat for lunch as well and headed downtown as I couldn't find what I needed at Compasspoint.

After I got home, I decorated the Christmas tree! I felt like a kid sorting and counting the decorations so that I could evenly distribute them on the tree. Most of each type decoration came in fours! I cleared some parts of the house and bathed Titus and my luggage.

Now, I'm trying to pass time as I wait for my departure time to set off to meet pQ for a late dinner.

Gosh, it's so difficult to find the carrier bag for backpacks just so that I can check it in at the airport. All the branches of Sports Connection is out of stock and there's none at the online auctions! Have no fear, Jaime's got it under control. She knows of a stash all the way at Chinatown (and it's cheaper).

I just got back from dinner with rZ and pQ. rZ went too!!! Anyway, we had fun talking about pigs, DUCKS and chickens. It's been a while! Haha!!! No fair, everyone has a song but me!!! For example, pQ has My Love and rZ has 2am!!!! HAHHAHAHA. I WANT A SONG. I want! I want!

Walk-of-the-Day

In the morning, we (Bex and ME) went to update her passport. After that, we ate at army market. The chicken rice was cheap and good! We actually intended to tour Geylang and we started walking from Lavender. However, we never reached Geylang!

We walked from Lavender, past Little India to Balestier where we watched Night at the Museum! It was simply hilarious!!! After that, we continued on our journey where we found ourselves at Upp Thomson Rd so we walked towards Novena MRT. We then collected my car at Aljunied and proceeded to NUS.

Even though we never made it to Geylang, I think it was fun. It's quite exciting to walk around and be pleasantly surprised at where you end up at! You get to places you've never stepped foot upon in all your years in Singapore!

In the evening, my family went to Julius' home where the Children's Liturgy Youth went to sing Christmas carols. It was splendid. I met a few old church friends (Debbie, Claire, Maryanne, Prema, etc.) Everyone's growing up! Goodness! Dylan (Ryan Tan's brother) is now Secondary 1!!! The last time I remember seeing him was when he was Primary 1!!! GOSH! What a great difference!!!

Fall on your knees.. Oh hear the angel voices..

Movie-of-the-Day

Look what pQ got for me in Genting! It's a cool keychain. You gotta see it LIVE.

pQ and I watched Charlotte's Web today. Nice spider.

Goodness, I hope I recover from my cold before Christmas! Tsk.

Planning-of-the-Day

In the morning, my father and I went to IKEA. It was so empty, adding to the fun! I saw Mr Lim Kok Wee!!! Nice guy.

After that, we (yQ, Rebessa and I) planned for Hong Kong!!! Fun but tiring.

Well, there was a scary incident today. While I was driving, there was a car that zoomed pass me on my right and splashed a whole lot of water on my windscreen. The visibility became zero and I could not even see the backlights of the vehicle in front of me. All I could do was to break gently and wait for visibility to return. The first thing that hit my mind while that happened was that I could not afford to get into an accident with 3 other people in my car. It hit me that it really wasn't just my life, I had other lives in my hands as well. I think most drivers tend to forget that. Drive safely.

Well, what I need to say is that my mood these days hasn't been the best ever. I admit, I'm easily irritable, have a lower tolerance level, laugh less, care less and I'm basically being a jerk. If I scream at you or sound the least bit pissed, it's because I'm frustrated with myself and I apologise. If need be, slap me and wake me up. Seriously. Sometimes I go overboard and I realize it after that. The problem is, I don't always apologise. I act like it's normal and move on. I'm confused and I need some time to work things out. I guess this time, I'm really the Grinch. Please give me some time to get this life back on track. In the mean time, I apologise for all the things I've done (or haven't done).

Anyway, I think I might just die soon. I keep getting acute chest pains and almost fainted again. My vision was suddenly blurred for a few seconds. Someone tell my brother these symptoms if something should happen. I keep thinking I'm going to die, for real. Please, not now. I need some time to make things right.

Event-of-the-Day

In the evening, we attended the SIFST student party. There was only 6 of us (Derrick, Eileen, Serene, myself and 2 Year 1s - Christine and Bao Zhu) from NUS!!! That's 10% of the total strength. It's one of the rare occassions that I won a prize from the Lucky Draw (12th Prize out of 30 prizes).

Anyway, we won the "Sensory Evaluation" game!!! Eileen's tastebuds are excellent!!!

Cycle.

Dreams waiting to be fulfilled.
Stress that can't be relieved.
Too many uncertainties.
One indefinite plan.
Always a different version,
But ultimately the same story.
I am but a character,
Succumbing to the author.
We are all sick of hearing the same tale,
Yet we are trapped in this miserable loop.
A new story is waiting to be written.
A future about to unfold.
The old pages will turn to dust.
Break this cycle, I must.

Badge-of-the-Day

For Titus.

I did some shopping for presents with Ivan and Sandra this afternoon (separately of course). I'll be going for dinner with my family soon!

Anyway, I have an entry pass for Ministry of Sound (Thursdays only). That is so unlike me. SMS me if you want it. I probably can get another one.

First_Thought-of-the-Day

This morning, I woke up and jumped right out of bed with the thought that I had to cut my hair. I immediately changed, washed up and headed to cut my hair!

After that, I did some internet surfing before I headed to the Library @ Orchard with Sandra. By the way, I wanted to go to the library of my own accord!!! I made the suggestion!

We walked all over town to find presents. We wanted to buy SM's present but we couldn't find anything suitable so we shopped for presents for our family members! It was an exhausting experience!

In the evening, pQ, rZ, sep and I met for dinner at Ah Seah. After that, Kim dropped pQ and I at my house bus stop. Thank you Mr Kim!!!

Hmm.. The sun is brighter. The days are cheerier. I am hyperer and there's a constant smile on my face. Christmas is on the way. It's the season to be UNgrinchy!!! I'm playing the same old song as every year >> All I want for Christmas is YOU by Mariah Carey! Goodness my heart is bursting with warmth!!! I LOVE THE HOLIDAYS AND I LOVE EVERYONE!!!

Just 4 HADEC!!!

HELLO HADEC!!!

Haha. Bye Bye!

Tour-of-the-Day

I had CM2161 examination in the morning.

After that, Bex and I went India. I really felt I was away from home. It was the first time we went to Mustafa. We walked to Waterloo St. We also discovered Prince Cinema and walked to Clifford Pier where there was shops along the overhead bridge. We ended up at Raffles Place and then we took an MRT back to City Hall and headed for the Esplanade. Interesting day, interesting tour!
