Birthday-of-the-Day

This entry is specially dedicated to HOW PQ on her 20th birthday!!! You're now a tween like me!!! Couldn't spend time with her on her birthday because of 2 reasons:
1) She didn't want to see me (I didn't want to see her either),
2) I was at a retreat.
Anyway, I hope she enjoyed her birthday.
pQ: You'd better like the wallet rZ and I chose! Don't lose it man!

  • FOCUS.

Demystification-of-the-Day

I met Siew Kia while giving out newspapers at Yio Chu Kang MRT. After work, I went to NYP to eat McDonalds Big Breakfast with Siew Kia!
After that, I rushed to NUS to help in testing out the games for CSS FOC.
The demystification of the day is the black chicken. Have you ever wondered if the black chicken you ate in your herbal soup was naturally black or treated to make it so? Well, the black chicken is naturally black. It is called the Black Silkie Bantam and orginates in Asia. It is the only chicken with naturally black skin, dark flesh and bones!
P.S. This entry is dedicated to the chicken lover, Rebecca, who wanted to know about black chickens.

Surprise-of-the-Day

In the evening, I had dinner with ex-Cedar x-cty people!!! It was a belated birthday celebration.
Here's how it went:
I was told to meet at 6.30pm at Ah Seah Eating House to eat with pQ, rZ and Sep. However, rZ smsed me to inform me that the pQ and Sep couldn't make it and ask me to eat pizza at her house. I knew this was a set up so I just went to rZ's home.
At the entrance, I saw pQ's slippers so I knew she was there. rZ was holding a camera and 2 people jumped out. One of them was pQ (as expected) and the other girl wore an ACJC uniform (Audrey Quek!!!!). I was surprised to see Audrey. I was wondering how come Sep looked so different! We were going to have steamboat for dinner!
Later on, two people arrived at rZ's place. I thought it was Sep! However, it was Susie Lim and Pris!!! I got an even greater shock. I was so surprised that my heart was beating so fast and I almost could not get started with the food.
While eating, pQ suddenly shouted "Hello Auntie! Hello Uncle!" By reflex, I did the same to realize that it was Jeslyn and Liqing standing at the entrance. I was even more shocked.
This entire evening was a pleasant surprise and it was filled with laughter. We spent a lot of time taking photos and posing weirdly. Really enjoyed this evening!
Thanks for organizing this for my birthday! I know it's really difficult to fix a date to get everyone down. I was really shocked that you guys could give me a surprise. I knew you guys were planning something. However, I thought it was just a birthday cake or that we were eating somewhere else. Never expected you all to come down especially since I thought you guys hardly contacted each other and that the kids would be busy with school and training. Ultimately touched. THANKS.
CEDAR ROCKS. Cedar X-CTY RULE.

Place-of-the-Day

In the early morning, Irving and I went to Bukit Timah Nature Reserve. It was our first time going there. The starting slope was a killer and I had to give up jogging up that slope! The view was not spectacular and it was disappointing. However, t'was fun since we had never been to the place!
In the afternoon, I met Sui Hui and we went to run 8K at MacRitchie. She sat my car for the first time we went to eat at Thomson Plaza food court. Stamp joined us too.
In the evening I had dinner with my family at Jln Kayu.
At night, we had a gathering of super old CEDAR LONG D's!!! So exciting. Some of them I met for the first time. We met at the Big 'O' at Wheelock and chatted there. Here's the list of ex-Cedarians:
  • Sheena

Treetop-of-the-Day

I finally went to the MacRitchie Treetop Walk. I went with Chris this morning. We bashed through the forest to get to the expressway and that was quite an experience. If my calculations are correct, we walked more than 15km and spent about 3 hours walking.
Here's the exciting bit:
  • We walked to the Treetop Walk
  • We wanted to go to the Jelutong Tower but there was a landslide and Sime Track was blocked off
  • We accessed Jelutong Tower from the other side of Sime Track (after crossing the Treetop Walk)
  • I found a route farmiliar and I assumed it was the 1okm route which I normally ran (I forgot that I had ran 12km before as well)
  • Apparently, we took the 12km route which cuts through Singapore Island Country Club (SICC)
  • Such a short cut was not allowed any more and there were people teeing off, so we had to make a detour
  • I was too lazy to walk back so we bashed through the forest to the expressway
  • The grass was really long and we even had to jump across a drain of some sort (the drain had water in it)
  • We walked inside and along the drain next to the expressway
  • We finally reached Lornie Rd

We went to town for lunch at Carl's Junior.

After that, we met Jasmine Choo together with Geraldine (my primary school friend).

We went to check out The Cathay. Only the cineplex is open for now and the other shops are on the way. What is worth viewing however, is the cartoons they place on the boards in the building to board up the construction. Very witty.
