Treetop-of-the-Day

I finally went to the MacRitchie Treetop Walk. I went with Chris this morning. We bashed through the forest to get to the expressway and that was quite an experience. If my calculations are correct, we walked more than 15km and spent about 3 hours walking.
Here's the exciting bit:
  • We walked to the Treetop Walk
  • We wanted to go to the Jelutong Tower but there was a landslide and Sime Track was blocked off
  • We accessed Jelutong Tower from the other side of Sime Track (after crossing the Treetop Walk)
  • I found a route farmiliar and I assumed it was the 1okm route which I normally ran (I forgot that I had ran 12km before as well)
  • Apparently, we took the 12km route which cuts through Singapore Island Country Club (SICC)
  • Such a short cut was not allowed any more and there were people teeing off, so we had to make a detour
  • I was too lazy to walk back so we bashed through the forest to the expressway
  • The grass was really long and we even had to jump across a drain of some sort (the drain had water in it)
  • We walked inside and along the drain next to the expressway
  • We finally reached Lornie Rd

We went to town for lunch at Carl's Junior.

After that, we met Jasmine Choo together with Geraldine (my primary school friend).

We went to check out The Cathay. Only the cineplex is open for now and the other shops are on the way. What is worth viewing however, is the cartoons they place on the boards in the building to board up the construction. Very witty.
