Titus-of-the-Day

Today marks the beginning of the
Year of the Titus!
Food is in abundance as usual. Money is in abundance (when you have difficulty folding your wallet in half, that's when you know...) Chinese New Year is a good time to brush up your dialect/mandarin and conversational skills. It forces you to make an extra effort to smile and be courteous all day. When you start holding long conversations with people you meet annually, you know you're old.
I was forced to play with my niece, Tiffany! (Don't get me wrong.. I have every intention to entertain her, I just don't know how... Jaime is the youngest in the family.) Everyone else was offering to give her rides. However, she approached me and said, "Auntie Jaime! Jump! Jump!". In other words, I had to lift her from the ground high into the air (She is 12kg by the way. Jaime is strong but not THAT strong.). I thought that one ride would be enough.
After a few more rides by Justin, Jansen and Julius (and while everyone except me was once again calling her and offering her a ride), she turned to me and said, "Piggy back!". Jaime was twisted by the arm once again and gave her a piggy back. This is the first time I played with such a tiny kid! (To all my folks who know me: See? I'm not a paedophile. I think the minimum age I can 'play with' is 3 years younger than I am.) What can I say? Kids like me, but I don't know how to entertain them. Any one holding a course on entertaining infants and kids?

Labour-of-the-Day

I've never chopped and sliced so much food in my life. What a tiring ordeal it is to prepare for Reunion Dinner.

I've just finished watching The Man In The Iron Mask. What courage!

Lunch-of-the-Day

I ate lunch in NUS today! I meant, I actually paid for it. I did not bring food from home. Well, there's a simple explanation to that. I met Chau King for lunch at YIH!
It is a sleepy day. I should sleep. I should study. I should wake up. I should sleep, wake up and then study. Good night.

Place-of-the-Day

I studied a little at Medicine (M5 I think) today! This is what I see when I study. The place is very windy and quiet. Very conducive for studying and chilling out!

Sunday, January 22, 2006

Shopping-of-the-Day

We (Regina, Ben H and JAIME) went shopping for Nat and Ben C's present today! We went town which was crowded as usual (It's Sunday).

For Sunday to live up to its name, it was sunny even though it drizzled a little.

Competition-of-the-Day

I went for my first air pistol competition (out of NUS) today! It was the Singapore Universities Meet. Did quite well. Our team got 1st!
The firing of guns in the range was really loud and it made my heart jump. When I got out of the range, my face was red.
It's Estrella's (my cousin) 21st birthday! Going for her party now!

Stomach-of-the-Day

Excercise-of-the-Day

Had GEK1511 lecture with Sandra and pQ today. Tsk tsk. Hope they don't bully me too much! (Hints to pQ!) pQ wrote a mirror image of 'pQ' on my arm during lecture.

I went climbing today! Wong Hui wanted to try climbing. Met a new person today, Shirleen from TJC, climber of course. The other people like Sandra and Liying were there too.

After that I went to run with pQ. Today's run was good. The weather was great (it drizzled at the start). I ran quite fast today considering my current standard. Ran around 7km in a timing of 40.00.09 min. I met my target of 40min!!! That's about 5+min per kilometre. YAY!

Well, it's all in the mind. My mindset was to run well today. I was thinking about that in the bus towards MacRitchie. For the first time since a long, long time, I did push especially in the later part of the run. The problem is that I walked in the first few kilometres. However, I had my runner's mentality while running today which was excellent. I even had the runner's high after the run. Kept being hyper and irritating. SHIOK.

I LOVE RUNNING.

To pQ: More to come man! Let's conquer the NUS slopes.

We met Mr Chiam Daohua at MacRitchie and went Bishan S11 to eat dinner with him! Haven't seen Stamp! for a long time...

MJ invited us (Shuming, Sandra and JAIME) to watch a dance performance at Victoria Theatre. After that, we had supper at Lau Pa Sat. Met two boys (they were selling satay) and they told Sandra I was cute! (I was daydreaming when they suddenly stood in front of me and hyperly asked me if I wanted to eat satay. Shocked me!)

Stress-of-the-Day

I spent most of my time in front of the computer screen to bid today! I wanted GEK1511 (Introduction to Computing) and the bids kept jumping. Finally, pQ, Sandra and I were allocated the module at the price of 400 points! This was so stressful!
I drove to Singapore Polytechinic to settle some of my work for the SIFST Gathering 2006.

Tuesday, January 03, 2006

Oldies-of-the-Day

I met up with pQ and 2 guys (Kokwai and Lloyd) I knew from long ago (end of my Sec 1 life).
We went to slack at Changing Appetites at Marina Square. pQ and I shared a strawberry oreo cheesecake and an ice chocolate drink.
We went to Han's for dinner where I ate the sirloin steak set dinner!
By the way, Lloyd looks so different with his long, golden hair! Just like Lion King! Kokwai looked like he shrank. He became shorter or rather, more stocky.
