Got a left handed Model-100 and challenged Da Jie, Yuxiang and Du Ke for 10 shots! My arm shook like CRAZY! Too weak. This made me realize something. As in, really realize it. I can't just put it on "ignore" cos it won't allow itself to be ignored! There's a problem so now let's fix it.

Dear Joint of my Upper Right Limb,

I know you've been working real hard lately. First, I made you lift a 1kg metal and wood thing repeatedly. Later on, I made you lift 4 to 5kg of jugs of water and made you do much manual labor. Your little hints of protest meant caught no attention from me. Then you used the hard approach. You'd wake me up in the middle of the night with numbness and bolts of pain. Once, I even thought I'd lost you.

Well, you've got my attention. I shall treat thee with utmost respect. We shall rest. I'll nurture you and build you up. In return, I know you will not disappoint me. Together, we will do wonders.

Attended bike lesson (Stage 1.03) today! I passed! Anyway, went for the compulsory bike theory lesson as well. After that, we transported guns to SAFRA.

In the evening, Big Hair, rZ and I met for dinner and headed for Grease at DBS Arts Centre! Andrew was the lead. Very funny performance!

Nails in the Fence

There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence.

The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.

Yesterday night, QL stayed at my place! Last night, JF and PF stayed over! Anyway, we headed over to ECP SUPER EARLY to serve as helpers in the NUS Biathlon. I saw Ms Lee there! She was with her ACJC runners.

Hmm.. Shot at NTU Range for the Singapore Universities Meet today. QL and I formed a rifle team with PF after our shoot! Quite funny. Well Well. As for the results, I'm too lazy to type it out.

LK's car and Valen transported guns to NTU for SUM (Singapore Universities Meet) tomorrow! Gim Hui stayed back (instead of heading home) to open the armoury for us. Many thanks to him!!! Niiice. JY and Peifang helped out too!

Anyway, QL's staying at my place tonight! We have to be at NTU by 830am! GOSH! By the way, NTU upgraded their range! The target machine is now automatic!!! No longer manual winding! YAY! Also, the sound of shots have been reduced (but it's still loud)!!! NICE NICE.

OH YAH! There was lion dance at my company! DAMN NICE LAR!!! Haha.. Haven't watched an entire performance in my life! And not so close up as well! So fun! We had CNY company lunch too! Had oranges and a red packet (with $10) as well! The games for the company lunch was DAMN FUN! Each table had to dress up someone as a rat! LOL! DAMN FUNNY. Man, I love this company!!! It was held at Raffles Country Club (RCC). It's quite funny to have a long trial of cars exiting Firmenich and all entering RCC and doing the reverse on the way back!

Well, it's Valentine's Day! Ok, I guess this is the best V day I've spent in years. From what I read from my blog, last year I wandered aimlessly around on my own and then decided to go training. In 2006, it was a regular school day.

Anyway, invited Big Hair to the range today! Introduced him to my gun. Before that idea came up, I figured the best way to spend V day was to meet up with my gun (1. I need to get used to my grip and 2. I got a competition on Sat; didn't copy DJ ok? Me trained last year too). We had dinner at Swensens. The queues for restaurants were crazy and everyone was asking for a table for 2. Had a happy day.

Visited the sports doctor at Changi General Hospital! Finally dragged myself there. Anyway, there's 2 problems with my arm socket! Gosh. I found out that I have elastic joints! Explains why my elbow can bend so far back before it actually locks. Cool.

Anyway, met CN today since I was so nearby her place! Saw and talked to 大姐 as well! Went for dinner with them, CR, Andy and CR's student!

I happily went to HTNS and realized that there was monthly shoot today. I forgot! Gosh. Haha. Anyway, had lunch with Nicholas at Cafe Cartel (we tried Thai Express at first but it was closed). After that, we watched tv (Pride & Prejudice.. Sandra: the guy's name is Matthew Mcfaydyen) at his place while I waited for time to pass so that pQ and I could go visiting! He was very hospitable!

Anyway, pQ and I visited Shena Na! Her dog very poor thing! Poor Pepper! Hope he recovers soon!!! Went to Plaza Singapura for a short while after that.

Julius & family came over with prata for dinner! They were playing with the helicopter again! I actually tried flying the remote-controlled helicopter! Wah. Not easy man. FUN FUN! Ok, I shall start playing with it. LOL.

Funny sia. Anyway, managed to buy some clothes!!! Had lunch at Thai Express cos rZ was craving for Pineapple Rice! Saw Joella, the sprinter. She's so demure and sweet now! For pQ's aid in recalling.. She's the Julin look-alike. But she really doesn't look like Julin anymore but good looking nonetheless. Heh. Been seeing so many people from my secondary school around lately (or rather the people around me have been seeing them, I'm a bit blind). Yesterday we saw J Lo, the sprinter. Gosh, she seems so different now!!!

Wah... I felt like I ate non-stop today!!! pQ, lingling and Uncle Fred came over to my place for a lunchtime steamboat! Nice nice. The food was still good. Not bad ar.. Uncle Fred can cook. LOL. Seppie and Big Hair came later to join us. Gosh, Big Hair took taxi! Anyway, Jan & Pat and Julius, Agnes and Horatius came over and they were flying a helicopter!

Uncle Fred left earlier for a party. pQ had to work. Seppie had a dinner to go to so that left lingling, Nicholas and I for dinner! Since it's CNY, we decided to head for prata. We went to Casuarina. Gosh, we witnessed a woman getting stung by a hornet. Wah, jialat. After that, we saw another hornet flying around so we decided to leave the place. Nick asked if we wanted to head for dessert so we decided on Serangoon Gardens. We slacked at Coffee Bean! I got to eat carrot cake! I love that cake. Gosh, there was a Public Display of Affection (PDA) before our very eyes. GOODNESS. LOL. We had discussions on VERY INTERESTING topics. Wah.. I got an education. I learnt about gays (not from a gay) and drugs. Gosh. Anyway, lingling's class has a blog for General Paper. What's discussed on the blog is similar to the topics we discussed!

And if you thought we were done for the night, you'd be mistaken. Nick invited us to see his rabbits! So cute!!! They're huge! Some of them were the lion mane breed! They have a mane!!! Haha. Anyway, after that, he invited us in for a drink. Felt a bit weird cos I've never "crashed" a guy's place so late at night (past midnight). Anyway, he gave us a tour of his house. Wah... It's damn nice can? And huge. His toilet.. is damn cool. XY, DJ, JF: Remember the toilet in Taiwan? The transparent glass toilet? That's still OK. This toilet is CLEAR TRANSPARENT GLASS!!! HAHAHA. Nick was damn funny. I was like saying it's the first time I see a transparent toilet. Then he stepped into the toilet and said that it's the first time I see a man in a transparent toilet. HAHA. He's damn funny.

Visited my grandma in the afternoon. Had lunch there. Hmm.. My aunt and uncle are in New Zealand so it was kind of weird being in a place without the host. Anyway, my grandma's already 93 years old I think. Kind of unconscious.. She doesn't know who we are. Oh well.

Started the day by meeting Sandra to watch Sweeney Todd. We started the day with breakfast at Coffee Bean (Sunplaza). The movie was quite nice. I guess it drove home the message that revenge is NOT sweet. It is but a bloodbath. Anyway, we met DJ for lunch! Fun Fun. (",)

Had CNY reunion dinner this evening. Gosh, the food quite premium food can? Spent quite a bit of time preparing food! Washed Titus to!

Well, today is Ash Wednesday. It marks the start of Lent (40 days preceding Easter). Someone asked me what I was doing for Lent. I almost choked on the question. I've been busy that I simply left that out (sounds like and excuse? God knows..) However, now I know what I should try to do. "Remember thou art dust, and to dust thou shalt return." Can you handle it?

Anyway, revenge can be so sweet (at an instant). As in the movie this morning, it is but a bloodbath. Everyone dies in the end. The only way to bring out a desirable outcome is through love. Can you believe it? Can you achieve it? Hatred and resentment will never make you happy. Joy is found in love of fellow men.. Not through hatred and resentment where evil begets evil.

The way of the world is revenge. It's truly a temptation to seek revenge and to harbour ill intentions for the sake of your status in this life (not the next). The problem is that your thirst for revenge is insatiable. The only person you're harming is yourself. Wouldn't you like a better life? A more joyous one? That is truly a challenge. It is more challenging to stop yourself from seeking revenge (even though you have the ability to) and to forgive than to go all out to harm others. That is true courage and strength.. when you've achieved self-mastery (or rather mastered your soul with the aid of God) to put pride aside and live in humility. That may appear cowardly to the world. However, I put this question to you my friends.. Ask yourself, do you find it easier to seek revenge? An eye for an eye? Or do you find it easier to forgive. I say most of us find the latter more challenging. In this regard, you would have won in the eyes of God (perhaps not man). For one who has been touched by God, truly believes in God.. and fears God.. would probably be a humble servant of God. When you can sincerely lead, you are a great servant.. A leader that inspires. To lead is to serve. It isn't glory. It isn't pride. It is about welfare. True welfare for others. True love (agape) for your fellow men. That in itself is a reward.

These are but words. I hope you will someday get to experience God just as I did. It makes life so wonderful (even through suffering). Only then will you stop questioning and simply believe. Deciding when we should be logical and when we should just have faith.. is just a very logical thinking pattern. Not amount of words can convince any one. For almost any situation, most of us will have to experience it to come to believe it. I can only hope that you get to experience it. After that, no matter what, you will never doubt again.

Hmmm.. Went down to the range after work today. Rather relaxing day at work. However, I was (am) dying of exhaustion. Wanted to train so badly but I decided it'll be better if I didn't. Anyway, went down to HTNS to introduce the Steyr LP-10 to Zi Jian. His hand is damn small for a guy! I had to help him make the erm.. ah.. bottom piece so that he could fit the grip. Gosh. So hard to cut through the cards. I thought my left hand was going to be cut into pieces as well. Anyway, I actually felt useful (for once) in shooting. Ego +1 point. LOL. Ok, too many shooters read me blog, I shall not talk crap.

Anyway, had dinner with Ruiz and Annie this evening. Found out that Annie is Catholic as well!

Had a fun time at rZ's party! Thank you rZ!!! Princess Jasmine and Aladdin! LOL. The theme was TOYS so I brought 2 dogs since rZ requested that pQ and I be dogs but we didn't know how. rZ: Haha. You better feel honoured. I actually bothered to wear something nicer. Anyway, you friends damn ONz!!! Got Flintstones couple.. Phua Chu Kang Gang.. Batman!!! Haha.. Saw a lot of people I haven't seen in ages. People like Nadene (who was mistaken to be Shi Ai! HAHAHAHA! THAT GOT A LOT OF LAUGHTER), Daox, Baochern, etc. Too many to name!

Anyway, got to know BIG HAIR (aka Nicholas) better today! I was really SHOCKED when turned to me and said "Hi Jaime"! pQ and I looked at each other, stunned that he knows my name and actually remembered me! I never really talked to him back in secondary school. He was more of pQ and rZ's friend, the kind I'd just say Hi to. Gosh. A very interesting and unique guy. He drew the t-shirt he wore today. Gosh. SO NICE!!! I thought he bought it lar! It's nice to get to know people you thought you'll never know? Heh. Anyway, played Ninetendo Wii for the first time today!!! Big hair loaned it to rZ for the party. Damn fun. HMM. We played Taboo (Singapore version) as well. Damn fun! Great party rZ! (",) I actually got home at 1+am and I'm still a bit high (not on alcohol, the natural high).

Today is Valen's first birthday! Valen ValenTine. (",) His initials are VVT as written on my car. (VVT actually means Variable Valve Timing).

Anyway, bought many many toys for my gun (lots of files)! It got a real good manicure session this evening thanks to TC! YAY. I have a happy grip now! Heehee. And.. WAH! QL blackened my super white new shoes (dedicated for shooting only). She saw my shoes then started a round of Pepsi-Cola 123 in the range lor! Gosh!!! HAHA. Damn funny. By the way, you should have seen the face of the guy watching me choose shoes. Damn funny cos I went around measuring the elevation of the sole of each shoe (using my thumb). Haha.



Anyway, let's talk about popcorn. I got the information from Leilani's presentation.

Why does popcorn pop?
Starch is contained in the endosperm of a corn kernel and has water holding capacity. When heated to about 250 degrees celsius, liquid water changes phase to become steam. The granules then swell due to pressure build-up. The pressure increases until the coating can no longer withstand the increased pressure, then the popcorn pops!
