HY and I had dinner at Outback to celebrate my new job!

This is officially the last day of my 9-month long holiday!

Achievement-of-the-Day

HY and I each made our first non-crash landing on the flight simulator for the RC airplane! Finally!!! A few more practice sessions and we'll be ready to take it to the skies!!!

This is an extremely addictive hobby. We were on the simulator the entire evening!

HY and I went to the ArtScience Museum for the Andy Warhol exhibition! Interesting.

Later in the day, we watched The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. It's a good show. Pretty funny too!

We had dinner at Nando's. Wow, I really love their chicken and their sauces!!!

Met Ivan for dinner at CHIJMES this evening. We had Mexican food at Senor Taco!

Celebration-of-the-Day

Started my birthday with a surprise visit just past midnight! I was sleeping so the first thought in my half-asleep state was that my brother was calling from Canada at an unearthly hour (for me anyway). HY came over with Ben & Jerry's and a big package! He didn't just get me a gift, he got me a new hobby! I got a remote control (RC) plane!!!

Spent the day setting up and practicing on the RC simulator. It's really not child's play. Later in the afternoon, I went fishing but didn't manage to catch anything today.

In the evening, HY was being very secretive and making me wear a over-sized chicken hat as a blindfold as soon as we exited CTE. Well, my orientation is not that bad, I figured out we stopped at Dempsey, just didn't know which restaurant. He made me walk down 3 flights of stair blind folded and I still couldn't remove the blindfold at the restaurant. The waitress slipped up and said, "Table for 8?" then corrected it to "Table for 2?". I was like, why did HY call all his friends to come too? We normally hang out with his friends as quadruple couples so when I heard 8, I thought of his friends. Anyway, I walked through the restaurant with a big chicken hat on my head. Only taking it off when I was seated. 

And man did I get a shock! My friends were there! Stamps, Mir, Clara, pQ, WL and JR! A mix of Cedar and VS cross-country folks. I never expected this as HY doesn't hang out with my peeps. Dinner was at House, Barracks and Camp.

Met with my brother, Justin, to celebrate my birthday this evening. We had dinner at Handlebar, a quiet chill-out place in ulu Sembawang. It's just next to the beach.

Cooked the stingray we caught the other day! The flesh was extremely tender! Nice!

Had a HomeTeamNS Monthly Shoot this morning. Finally manage to hit 360/400 again! Only thing was that my final shot was a 7 (I shot a total of two 7s and did not hit anything below 7), so I was a little disturbed.

Met up with HY & Friends at Ah Orh Seafood Restaurant (Sin Ming). We had cold crab! It was the first time I ate cold crab.

After dinner, we went to play pool at Ang Mo Kio! Now, that's old school.

Movie-of-the-Day

Joined a couple of Citibankers for mortinis and mini steak burgers at The Bar at Morton's!

Watched 21 Jump Street this evening. It's so lame!!! Well, it was very entertaining though!

Fishing-of-the-Day

Went to Punggol Promenade for fishing this afternoon. It was really hot out! The fish were taunting me. Every couple of minutes they'd take a leap and make a big splash, so I was pretty confident there were fish in the area where I was. After 1.5H of no luck, I headed to another fishing deck. Well, all I caught was a tiny guy! Look at the size of that thing, my lure is 2/3 the size of the fish!

In the evening, we watched Dark Shadows! I like movies by Tim Burton!

Wow. It felt like speed dating, not that I've done speed dating before! Glad to see everyone again!

Went training (shooting) and swimming at HTNS this afternoon! Gosh, it's far!

Smoked duck dinner at BBQ Chicken.

Started the day with breakfast of course! Made pancakes and had tea from Cameron Highlands. 

We then headed out for cycling following the Park Connector route which pass through Punggol, Seng Kang and Buangkok.

Lunch was at Changi Village so we could pick up some fishing items and bait. Decided to try our luck fishing at the Punggol Jetty. Well, I got lucky. I had a pull and started reeling in the line but it seemed it was stuck, so I thought I hit some rocks but I distinctly remember there wasn't any rocks where I cast so I was a little puzzled. Had to release line and reel back in in order to have a mini "fight" with my catch. I was simply shocked when I saw what i was reeling in. It was a stingray!!! It's the first time I've ever caught a stingray! It looked so cute that I felt a little bad about killing it for a meal.

Ended the day with a meal at BBQ Chicken at Downtown East.

Met pQ to hang out in the evening. We had zi char at Purvis Street then headed to Bugis. Headed to NYDC for dessert. It's been so long since I went to NYDC, somewhat a teenage years place for me. Seems like Red Velvet is everywhere now!

Finally got to watch Avengers this evening! We tried to catch the movie on Monday, but the projector wasn't functioning, so that left a cinema full of disgruntled customers. Well, we got compensated with 2 movies per ticket stub.

Went for a short hike along The Green Corridor! For those of you who don't already know, The Green Corridor refers to the space left after they removed the KTM railway track in Singapore. We completed just part of the hike, so we'll be heading back for more!
